Chris Wilkinson and Jim Eyre began working together with the shared belief that technology and science link to the visual arts through architecture. A consistent thread through the work of the practice is the fusion of engineering with refined detail, creating buildings and structures that are crisp, functional, and stand the test of time. Many WilkinsonEyre projects have become popular symbols of regeneration, fostering a strong and positive identity for their host communities.
This exhibition will profile 40 of the most significant projects in the practice's extensive output, as well as explore 4 seminal projects in greater detail. There will be insights into the design approaches and methodology that have given the practice its consistency and brought acclaim, and a diverse body of work will be illustrated through drawings, photographs and specially commissioned models.
