Melissa has significant experience leading large, high-value, complex projects. Her expertise spans all design stages across a broad range of sectors, with a recent focus on office and workspace design and residential led placemaking. She is passionate about cross-disciplinary collaborative work, integrating construction thinking and deliverability into the early design stages, and ensuring that modern methods of construction are fully enabled to bring safety, cost, and programme benefits.
Since 2019, alongside her design work, Melissa has co-led WilkinsonEyre’s ESG group, developing WilkinsonEyre’s Environmental Manifesto, Social Value, and the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Strategy across the practice. Melissa has presented on panels for the NLA, Women in Property, and LondonBuild, among other industry initiatives. In 2021, she curated and chaired "Female Voices in the Built Environment," an event at the Barbican as part of International Women’s Day, celebrating diversity in the industry.
Throughout her career, Melissa has maintained close engagement with academia and has served as an external examiner, and visiting lecturer at institutions including UCL: The Bartlett, The Architectural Association, Manchester, Liverpool and LSBU, and has led both undergraduate and postgraduate design units at the University of Greenwich. Her academic work and research have been published by Thames and Hudson, Wiley, and AD Journal.
