This ultra luxury residential project was won by WilkinsonEyre in an international design competition for a site in Kowloon, Hong Kong.
A total of 40 'built-for-rent' apartments are offered, comprising predominantly 3 bed properties alongside some 2 and 4 bed, including duplex townhouses and lateral penthouses. The substantial apartments provide flexible ‘through’ living spaces for entertaining and family use. Generous balconies provide stunning views overlooking the mountains in the north.
The elegant design remains respectful of the sensitive historical and ecological context whilst redefining the luxury modern lifestyle in Hong Kong. The curved building form is inspired by the classical English residential ‘crescent’, elegantly sweeping towards the north and thereby embracing distant views of mountains and Lion's Rock.
The architectural language is equally influenced by twentieth century ‘streamlined modernism’ - the style in which many of the original buildings on the estate were designed - characterised by the incorporation of strong horizontal lines, which is referenced in the building's clean, sweeping lines. On the exterior, use of limestone and bronze offer an elegant, high-quality material palette.
Supporting a luxury lifestyle, the building's design includes a high-end clubhouse offering a stunning cantilevered infinity pool over the green slopes below, a gym, a multi-functional flexible event space and a children’s play area.
The project is currently on site.
