WilkinsonEyre appointed to Tavern and Allen Stands at Lord’s Cricket Ground
We are thrilled to announce our appointment by the MCC to redesign the Tavern and Allen Stands at Lord’s Cricket Ground.
This commission, awarded after an invited design competition, involves the sustainable upgrading of both stands, with a mandate to preserve as much building fabric as possible. The existing 1968 Tavern stand will be extended, while the smaller Allen stand will be rebuilt.
Our design proposals seek to enhance the sense of arrival while meeting a clear requirement to modernise and improve the existing facilities. The revived stands will be a critical new contribution to this world-famous sporting venue.
A collaborative design process is now underway. The commission continues our relationship with the MCC after the successful completion of the Compton & Edrich Stands in 2021.
