We're excited to announce that Battersea Power Station has been awarded Building Project of the Year at the SECBE Awards 2023
The judges said: “A complex, Grade II listed restoration, carried out sympathetically whilst minimising environmental impact and preserving an iconic structure - repurposing it to safeguard its future. A superb example of best practice, innovation and technical achievement overcoming the extensive and wide-ranging challenges in such a project. This unique project embodied all elements required of a winner in this category – an exemplary project, based upon a strong, collaborative team. A worthy winner of this category.”
The architectural interventions respect the integrity of the historic landmark while creating new events spaces, shops, restaurants and cafés, large open-plan office spaces and a series of sky villas positioned around rooftop garden squares above the Boiler House and Turbine Halls.
The Constructing Excellence SECBE Awards recognise the very best construction companies, collaborations and projects from across London & the South East. Battersea Power Station will move forward to the national awards, taking place this autumn.
